The average consumer tends to take the necessary precautions when it comes to credit monitoring and shredding important documents, but they seem to neglect online credit protection altogether. With this being the technological age, online credit protection is one of the most important steps any consumer can and should take. Never open a website address from an email and if you receive an email from a current creditor requesting personal information, then type in the web address manually and verify the validity of the email itself.
